First vape on the 6 July 2013, initial outlay $110.00 for kit and $53.00 for nicotine ordered online, Total $163.00.

31 days smoke free @ 20 cigarettes per day at $20 pack $620.00.

Saved $457 in the first month!

Amazing the way smokers justify the expense, I lost the addiction, thanks to vaping and wonder at the stupidity of it...

I started smoking when I was 9 years old. It was not an issue in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The FDA approves contaminates based on funding. Why we let this organization continue is beyond me. But, that being said, when the FDA was ruled by government regulations, the foods and drugs were much safer. In 1993, the president de-regulated them allowing them to get their funding by whoever could afford their price tag, then all of a sudden, we have a new approved drug or food that will kill you!

The e-cig, while it is not smoking, approaches the addiction of smoking in many aspects. The nicotine is actually not as important to some as others, but is an easy thing to reduce while using the e-cig. This is up to the user. While many had tried and failed in stopping smoking, many have found the e-cig to be the key to letting go of that habit.

Now on to what is in the fluid. Propylene Glycol (the main ingredient in most cases) is used and has been used in hospitals, humidors, many food flavorings and doctor offices for many years to kill bacteria. in 1942, it was found that Propylene Glycol could effectively reduce bacteria in that air when vaporized (kept under boiling point or flash point) The vegetable Glycerin, is used in many other industries as well including skin care and is the main part that produces the "Smoke" from an e-cig. Neither of these have harmful effects at the levels used in "vaping" (the use of an electronic cigarette) The nicotine generally used is of pharmaceutical grade and is used in the treatments of many illnesses including some heart issues.

The flavorings used are all food flavorings, while most all vendors/flavorist are using flavors that are considered safe for inhalation, there are some that are being self removed by the consumers by being educated about the flavors.

As a child smoking, there was little my parents could do to actually stop me from smoking, had there have been this alternative back then, I am sure I would have chosen this safer alternative as the taste is actually much better. We can say the same about drinking alcohol. There will be children drinking alcohol even with good parenting, but the only thing we can do is to educate, pray they make the right choices, and let them know we care..

I smoked for 25 years and decided to quit cold turkey on my 50th birthday. I loved smoking and really didn't want to quit, but for my health I knew it was time. I knew I would need some help so I purchased an e-cig. With zero nicotine. Turns out, for me, the nicotine withdrawal wasn't that big a deal. My problem was the psychological addiction of having something in my hand and the ACTION of smoking. The e-cig really helped me with that. In fact, I would go so far as to say that having the e-cig kept me from caving in and picking the real cigarettes back up. It is now almost 6 months since I've smoked a real cigarette and I put the e-cig away about a month ago. So while my story may not be typical, the e-cig certainly helped me accomplish my goal. My point is that one doesn't HAVE to purchase the cartridges with the nicotine, although I'm sure most people do.
